Centering the Wick

Centering the wick of the candle is yet another way to promote long lasting candles. Of course, a high quality candle should have a wick that runs straight through the center of the candle, but the exposed wick can fall to one side after being burnt for long periods of time. After a long burn, let the candle cool for a few minutes. Then, with your fingers, gently pinch the wick and pull it into vertical position. Be careful not to pull it hard enough to break it. If the wick is too cool, it will break easily. If the wax is too soft, the wick will not stay where you position it. Also do not forget to trim the wick.
